औलाद पालते हैं बुढापे के लिए – ek marmik story
गैरहाज़िर कन्धे—-
विश्वास साहब अपने आपको भाग्यशाली मानते थे। कारण यह था कि उनके दोनो पुत्र आई.आई.टी. करने के बाद लगभग एक करोड़ रुपये का वेतन अमेरिका में प्राप्त कर रहे थे। विश्वास साहब जब सेवा निवृत्त हुए तो उनकी इच्छा हुई कि उनका एक पुत्र भारत लौट आए और उनके साथ ही रहे ; परन्तु अमेरिका जाने के बाद कोई पुत्र भारत आने को तैयार नहीं हुआ, उल्टे उन्होंने विश्वास साहब को अमेरिका आकर बसने की सलाह दी। विश्वास साहब अपनी पत्नी भावना के साथ अमेरिका गये ; परन्तु उनका मन वहाँ पर बिल्कुल नहीं लगा और वे भारत लौट आए।
दुर्भाग्य से विश्वास साहब की पत्नी को लकवा हो गया और पत्नी पूर्णत: पति की सेवा पर निर्भर हो गई। प्रात: नित्यकर्म से लेकर खिलाने–पिलाने, दवाई देने आदि का सम्पूर्ण कार्य विश्वास साहब के भरोसे पर था। पत्नी की जुबान भी लकवे के कारण चली गई थी। विश्वास साहब पूर्ण निष्ठा और स्नेह से पति धर्म का निर्वहन कर रहे थे।
एक रात्रि विश्वास साहब ने दवाई वगैरह देकर भावना को सुलाया और स्वयं भी पास लगे हुए पलंग पर सोने चले गए। रात्रि के लगभग दो बजे हार्ट अटैक से विश्वास साहब की मौत हो गई। पत्नी प्रात: 6 बजे जब जागी तो इन्तजार करने लगी कि पति आकर नित्य कर्म से निवृत्त होने मे उसकी मदद करेंगे। इन्तजार करते करते पत्नी को किसी अनिष्ट की आशंका हुई। चूँकि पत्नी स्वयं चलने में असमर्थ थी , उसने अपने आपको पलंग से नीचे गिराया और फिर घसीटते हुए अपने पति के पलंग के पास पहुँची। उसने पति को हिलाया–डुलाया पर कोई हलचल नहीं हुई। पत्नी समझ गई कि विश्वास साहब नहीं रहे। पत्नी की जुबान लकवे के कारण चली गई थी ; अत: किसी को आवाज देकर बुलाना भी पत्नी के वश में नहीं था। घर पर और कोई सदस्य भी नहीं था। फोन बाहर ड्राइंग रूम मे लगा हुआ था। पत्नी ने पड़ोसी को सूचना देने के लिए घसीटते हुए फोन की तरफ बढ़ना शुरू किया। लगभग चार घण्टे की मशक्कत के बाद वह फोन तक पहुँची और उसने फोन के तार को खींचकर उसे नीचे गिराया। पड़ोसी के नंबर जैसे तैसे लगाये। पड़ौसी भला इंसान था, फोन पर कोई बोल नहीं रहा था, पर फोन आया था, अत: वह समझ गया कि मामला गंभीर है। उसने आस–पड़ोस के लोगों को सूचना देकर इकट्ठा किया, दरवाजा तोड़कर सभी लोग घर में घुसे। उन्होने देखा -विश्वास साहब पलंग पर मृत पड़े थे तथा पत्नी भावना टेलीफोन के पास मृत पड़ी थी। पहले विश्वास और फिर भावना की मौत हुई। जनाजा दोनों का साथ–साथ निकला। पूरा मोहल्ला कंधा दे रहा था परन्तु दो कंधे मौजूद नहीं थे जिसकी माँ–बाप को उम्मीद थी। शायद वे कंधे करोड़ो रुपये की कमाई के भार के साथ अति महत्वकांक्षा से पहले ही दबे हुए थे।
लोग बाग लगाते हैं फल के लिए
औलाद पालते हैं बुढापे के लिए
