जैसा हम देखते, सुनते या व्यवहार में लाते हैं, ठीक वैसा ही निर्माण हमारे अंतर्जगत् का होता है। जो- जो वस्तुएँ हम बाह्य जगत् में देखते हैं, हमारी अभिरुचि के अनुसार उनका प्रभाव पड़ता है। प्रत्येक अच्छी मालूम होने वाली प्रतिक्रिया से हमारे मन में एक ठीक मार्ग बनता है। क्रमश: वैसा ही करने से वह मानसिक मार्ग दृढ़ बनता जाता है। अंत में वह आदत बनकर ऐसा पक्का हो जाता है कि मनुष्य उसका क्रीतदास बना रहता है।
जो व्यक्ति समाज सेवा व अच्छाइयाँ देखने की आदत बना लेता है, उसके अंतर्जगत् का निर्माण शील, गुण, दैवी तत्त्वों से होता है। उसमें ईर्ष्या, द्वेष, स्वार्थ की गंध नहीं होती। सर्वत्र अच्छाइयाँ देखने से वह स्वयं शील गुणों का केन्द्र बन जाता है।
समाज सेवा व अच्छाई एक प्रकार का पारस है। जिसके पास अच्छाई देखने का सद्गुण मौजूद है, वह पुरुष अपने चरित्र के प्रभाव से दुराचारी को भी सदाचारी बना देता है। उस केन्द्र से ऐसा विद्युत प्रभाव प्रसारित होता है जिससे सर्वत्र सत्यता का प्रकाश होता है। नैतिक माधुर्य जिस स्थान पर एकीभूत हो जाता है, उसी स्थान में समझ लो कि सच्चा माधुर्य तथा आत्मिक सौंदर्य विद्यमान है। अच्छाई देखने की आदत सौंदर्य रक्षा एवं शील रक्षा दोनों को समन्वय करने वाली है।
जो व्यक्ति गंदगी और मैल देखता है, वह दुराचारी, कुरूप, विषयी और कुकर्मी बनता है। अच्छाई को मन में रोकने से अच्छाई की वृद्धि होती है। दुष्प्रवृत्ति को रोकने से हिंसा, मारना, पीटना, ठगना, अनुचित भोग विलास इत्यादि बढ़ता है। यदि संसार में लोग नीर- क्षीर विवेक करने लगें और अपनी दुष्प्रवृत्तियों को निकाल दें, तो सतयुग आ सकता है और हम पुनः उन्नत हो सकते हैं।
