एक बार एक गुजरी दूध बेच रही थी और सबको दूध नाप नाप कर दे रही थी।
उसी समय एक नौजवान दूध लेने आया तो गुजरी ने बिना नापे ही उस नौजवान का बरतन दूध से भर दिया।
वही थोड़ी दूर पर एक साधु हाथ में माला लेकर मनकों को गिन गिन कर माला फेर रहा था।
तभी उसकी नजर गुजरी पर पड़ी और उसने ये सब देखा और पास ही बैठे व्यक्ति से सारी बात बताकर इसका कारण पूछा।
उस व्यक्ति ने बताया-
“जिस नौजवान को बिना नाप के दूध दिया है वह उस नौजवान से प्यार करती है।
इसलिए जहाँ प्यार होता है, वहां हिसाब किताब नही देखा जाता।”
यह बात फकीर के दिल को छूं गयी और उसने सोचा कि एक गुजरी जिससे प्यार करती है तो उसका हिसाब नही रखती और मैं जिस अपने प्रभु से प्यार करता हूं उसके लिए सुबह से शाम तक मनके गिनगिन कर माला फेरता हूं।
मुझसे तो अच्छी यह गुजरी ही है।
तात्पर्य –
जहां प्यार होता है वहां हिसाब किताब नही होता है और जहां हिसाब किताब होता है वहां
प्यार नही होता है। सिर्फ व्यापार होता है।

हम भी सिर्फ माला का नहीं हम सब अध्यात्म में आके भी सब हिसाब रखते है – दान का हिसाब, सेवा का हिसाब, सत्संग का हिसाब, सिमरन का हिसाब।
(कितने दिन से सिमरन कर रहे हैं या अगली सेवा कब मिलेगी इस का हिसाब सब रखते हैं।)
